Students at LES have been creating Name Art the past few weeks. Each student used their name in a creative way to make a piece of art. They added patterns and color in unique ways. These are a few of the 5th grade explorations with graffiti art.

We had another beautiful Peace Day this year. Students gathered in the gym October 7th to remember International Day of Peace. Although the weather didn’t cooperate, we planted our pinwheels the following day out on the front lawn of the school.

Students shared poetry, songs and thoughts about peace. We had a visitor from the Peace Pagoda who described what he does to facilitate peace in our community. We ended our celebration with a Love Train that took us back to our classrooms. It was a meaningful assembly enjoyed by all.
