“Wear a Mask” Lawn Signs

Local officials are asking for our help. Please make signs for your yard to encourage everyone to wear a mask. This will keep us safe and hopefully get us back to school faster. Can you help?

Here’s what to do. Make a big poster, see examples for ideas. Have an adult attach it to some sort of frame and place it by the road where others can see it and be reminded to wear their masks.

Be sure that it is big enough and bold enough to be seen.

We thank you for your help.

LET’S EXPLORE SHAPE

Have you made any Happy Mail? If not, try it out. It’s lots of fun. If you need an idea, just pick an encouraging word and decorate it, then send it to someone. It is sure to put a smile on their face.

This week, I’d like you to connect with your environment again. You can do this activity inside or outside. Think about what you know about shape. If you need a reminder, please watch this video for more information about SHAPE.

While observing your environment, find 30 SHAPES (outside or inside).
Make a list of the different kinds of shapes you observed. You may draw them and write a word that describes them (gr. 3-6).
Remember that a shape can be geometric (square, circle, triangle, etc.) or organic (freeform like a cloud).
ART IS ALL AROUND YOU!!

I am missing you all so much. Take care and stay safe and healthy.

Student work

I’m so happy to share one of my student’s work. I appreciate the way she explored the lesson option, incorporating the lines she found in her environment. She also participated in this family art piece of a sculpture made of stone. Way to go! If you want your work showcased on the blog, be sure to email pictures with permission to share. Still missing you all!
